In the 2023-2024 school year our chapter welcomed nine new brothers during rush and gained lifelong friendships. Many of our new brothers immediately stepped up and took positions on our executive council, including Gage Kettlewell (Vice President of Programming), Andrew Jbara (Vice President of Membership Development), Hayden Smith (Vice President of Finance), Connor Angst (Vice President of Communications), Andy Knutson (Vice President of Recruitment), and Sam Hathcock (Vice President of SigEp Learning Community). Many other brothers have selflessly stepped up outside of elected positions to aid the chapter’s growth and success in times of need.

In the fall we had many great events including our annual “SigEp Sand Slam” and Coosa kayaking trips as well as swaps with the AOII and Phi Mu chapters on campus. In late August we held a beach volleyball tournament where ten teams competed for free shirts and gift cards to local restaurants. A couple weeks later in September we took a kayaking trip down the Coosa river as a brotherhood retreat to bond and have fun while doing it. Later in the fall, during the Halloween season we carved pumpkins with the women of AOII where our very own Liam Angst and Andrew Jbara won the contest for best pumpkin carving. On Homecoming we held the “Phi Mu x SigEp Wingfest” event where we raised hundreds of dollars for Phi Mu’s philanthropy as well as our SigEp educational foundation through a silent auction with chapter alumni and the sale of wings at lunch time. We also held a game night with the women of Phi Mu earlier in the semester and had a blast connecting with them and meeting each others new members.

When spring rolled around things got busy for most of our brothers due to their tennis and lacrosse schedules, but we managed to host great events nonetheless. We held another great swap with the women of Phi Mu and celebrated our chapter’s 45th anniversary on campus during our composite photoshoot before our Spring formal. The spring formal was a blast for everyone involved and featured a Kentucky Derby theme. The spring also signaled the time for the annual “Order of Omega Greek Awards” where the brothers of SigEp received six awards some of which included: highest cumulative GPA, the Interfraternal award, Future Greek Leader, and Greek Man of the Year.

Once the end of the year rolled around we had to bid farewell to two precious members in Jack Young and Brady Moulton during our Hoop of Steel ceremony where we thanked these brothers for their constant work and dedication as well as reliving the memories we’ve made together over their time in the chapter. Jack has since moved into a one year consulting role for the National Headquarters of SigEp while he works towards Law School and Brady is a Loan Officer for Leader One Financial. These brothers helped make this fraternity and themselves great while opening the door for future brothers, and for that we will forever be grateful.
